Once Upon a Second Chance

Thank you for stopping at my spot on Once Upon a Second Chance Virtual Book Tour.. This Virtual Book Tour is brought to you by AToMR Book Blog Tours. I will provide you with a synopsis of the book, review, and a small bio from Heather Woods. Visit the other blogs on this Book Tour to learn more about this book.

Book Synopsis:

Julia’s life seemed to be falling perfectly into place. She had burgeoning job
prospects in the finance industry, an exciting life in New York City, and a wonderful fiancé,
Nick Kerkley, who she was totally in love with. Nick however, while being completely
devoted to Julia, did not have the career potential or financial stability to be worthy of
someone like her — or at least that’s what she came to convince herself. Hesitantly, Julia
ended the relationship, forcing herself to believe it would all be for the best. Little did she
know, that one decision would lead both their lives to spiral away from each other, only to converge again.
What happens to your fairytale when you let someone else wave the magic wand? Will your dreams of love and
enchantment still come true, or will your ‘happily ever after’ pass by without you?
Once Upon a Second Chance is a contemporary retelling of Jane Austen’s Persuasion.
Smart and deliciously satisfying, Once Upon a Second Chance delivers irresistible characters and deft plotting. Peppered with self-deprecating banter, the reader feels Julia Basham’s pain as Jules is forced to face her greatest fear: seeing Nick Kerkley again. Heartstrings are tugged, while Vere weaves a stylishly fashioned love story based on Jane Austen’s Persuasion. - Regina Jeffers, author of Darcy’s Passions, The Phantom of Pemberley, and The Disappearance of Georgiana Darcy

My Review:

I really enjoyed reading this story.  It was a great easy to read love story that made you feel good when you were finished reading it.

Julia and Nick dated for 3 months and fell in love with each.  Julia was so excited they were going to get married, but when Julia told her older sister Lisa, she was not as excited as Julia.  Lisa told Julia that Nick was not the one for her - that he didn't have a good job and that she really needed to end her relationship.  After much debate Julia told Nick that she didn't love him and could no longer see him.

Eight years later they meet again through work.  Nick know owns his own business and is worth lots of money.  Julia finds out that she has to spend a weekend with him and some friends as they look over some property. Julia does not want to go but it is her job along with her boss and Bess another co-worker.  Does Julia and Nick get back together? Or is there someone between them?

You will need to read the book to find out what happens next - but I am sure you will like the ending as much as I did.  I am sure we all have a fairy godmother looking out for us.
